Not smart for an immediate rematch. Takes balls to risk getting beat up again but smart money would be to fight Peterson for a belt then go back up to rematch chino.

You are right and lot of what you have to say I agree with it. For instance, while it's true that Broner is a grown man and often does and lives as he so please. Also, coupled with the fact that Stafford does work for him and is therefore, technically speaking his boss; I can understand some of your points. However, where I disagree with your assessment is that Stafford couldn't have come up with a better game plan against the naturally larger and stronger Maidana.
Why? Because it's still ultimately the responsibility of the trainer to get his fighter mentally, physically and psychologically prepared for a potential dangerous challenger. So in that regard, Mike Stafford failed Broner because he could have focused more on defense by having him move his feet a lot more in order to avoid so many flush punches he absorbed from El Chino. Stafford even hinted as much in this interview article that AB was fighting too flat-footed of a fight and thereby making himself a lot easier target to get hit from Marcos Maidana.
Moreover, it is the boxing coach's job to stress self-discipline in order to motivate and inspire his pupil in order to help bring out the optimum results in his boxers. Robert Garcia definitely helped brought out the best in Marcos Maidana, by inspiring him to be very focused and determined for the difficult task at hand; Which was the undefeated champion Adrien Broner.
In addition, he stressed the very importance of self discipline too. So that was why Maidana won the fight because he was the one boxer that night who wanted to win it the most. Team Broner expected a bum Marcos Maidana to just show up, lay down and collect a payday but they were sadly mistaken. Team Maidana had one goal in mind and that was to fight, compete and to bring home that championship belt and they had succeeded.Comment

Mike Stafford has two relationships with Adrien Broner — he is a father figure who has known Broner since he was a child, and he is the trainer who helped guide that kid as he won world titles in three weight classes.
And so after Broner got knocked down twice and lost a unanimous decision to Marcos Maidana this past December, Stafford was split on whether Broner’s desire to seek an immediate rematch was the best choice.
Stafford the father figure felt one way. Stafford the trainer felt another.

Perhaps you may have misunderstood me. So in any case, please give me the chance to attempt to spell it out for you. Adrien "The Problem" Broner is Mike Stafford's boss. Stafford is paid by Broner from all the purse splits of his fights. In other words, he is one of AB's hired hands because he works for him. If AB doesn't fight then his boxing coach won't get paid. So as long as Adrien fights then Stafford will continue to train him. Therefore, Adrien Broner is the man in charge and has the power and autonomy to do things his own way like not focusing and training hard and also firing Mike Stafford at anytime if he so chooses.Comment

Ya'll acted like Broner just got destroyed are clueless and f.uckin' ******. Chino clearly won the fight. But it was a grueling fight for both. And the biggest difference was Chino handled A~s power better than AB handled Chino's. Chino was in bad shape in the 12th. And had he not hit AB with a bomb that wobbled him. It isn't outta the question that AB could have stopped him. Some of ya'll are justy plain f.uckin' ******ed.
LOL!!! You're a f.uckin' idiot.
Don't remember my exact score. I had Maidana winning by four points. And I gave him a 10-8 round in a round he didn't even score a KD. My score was pretty close to what the Showtime guys had it. Your's reflects a mindless hate. I guess Cotto was robbed against Floyd. A draw was a good score in Floyd-Canelo. And Paulie beat AB by a landslide too huh?
I don't see how it was Stafford's fault that AB chose to go on a rap tour and got fat and outta shape. And I don't see how its Stafford's fault that AB couldn't handle Chino's punching power. He ain't Floyd. So he isn't gonna make Chino miss everything. And his skill level isn't good enough to simply outbox Chino for 12 rounds. I don't see how any of that is his trainer's fault. Much less, now that its clear that AB isn't a welterweight and needs to move down. He won't listen to Stafford. He won't even listen to Floyd. So all Stafford can do is get him ready for the fight he wants. AB is a grown ass man. Its not his trainer's job to be a babysitter.Comment

Peterson got better boxing skill than Maidana and would whip Broner's arse just as bad. Peterson got an aggresive style and move a lot better than Maidana.Comment
