I never claimed the Froch-Groves fight wasn't a premature stoppage. I think the Anderson one was way worse. Froch got dropped in the first round and got the stoppage in the 9th in a fight where he'd landed his fair share of hard shots.

Groves was dropped and got the stoppage a round later - much worse.

15% if it goes to purse bids. Neither Groves, Froch or Hearn is interested in that happening.

25% was not a 'great' offer. It was a good offer. As far as my sources tell me, Groves is holding out for between 1,5-1,7m whilst Froch will get between 3-4m including PPV. Groves was offered a little over 1 million, but there were a few contractual issues that they didn't like. and it wasn't just options.

I think Hearn will stretch to 1,3 and Groves will probably say yes. Let's not forget that Groves makes up a good portion of this fight as well.

Does it matter how long before the stoppage a fighter got dropped? It wasn't way worse by any stretch.

It was a scrap for the british title for one. The other was a world title fight. Froch, in his own words, had been hit with the kitchen sink throughout the fight, Groves most certainly hadn't in the Anderson fight.

He was caught with a good shot, came up and landed some clean blows and the fight was stopped. prematurely.

Froch got a bit of success in the 9th round, and the fight was stopped. prematurely.

They are very similar situations, one is not 'way worse' than the other. Especially considering the significance of each fight.

Hearn seems pretty happy with it judging by his last interview

So that doesn't matter but it matters what title it was for?

Of course it matters because Froch recovered and got himself into the fight. It wasn't a one sided beating. It was another 8 rounds of back n forth.

Groves was literally getting beat up by Anderson. And then a round later, he gets on top for a short period and the ref stops it....lol. Anderson was winning the round before Groves got on top for about 10 seconds.

How did he seem happy? He said they weren't interested in purse bids and Groves wouldn't take 15% anyway? Plus, with the promoters swarming around groves at the moment, you never would know who would win that bid.

              That would be a disaster.

Of course it matters which title it's for! What planet do you live on?

Here were go again, yeah - Froch vs Groves back and forth. pretty equal, nobody had the upper hand.

Groves was getting beat up from pillar to post by anderson and only had one second success that prematurely ended the fight.

So a premature stoppage is ok if it's for the British title but not the world title? LOL...where do you get this **** from?

No I didn't say that. But for a world title, it is normally understood by everyone that it's a fight of a lifetime for one of, if not both fighters - therefore they are given a little extra leash by officials.

I'm neither emotional or pissy, haha. I just don't want to go through old ground everytime we discuss this.

I get that you have something against Groves because he was with Booth and Hayemaker, I get it. And that's why it's pointless.

Anderson beating Groves would have changed his life. Winning the British title and beating a top prospect would have put him on the map. There shouldn't be any extra leniency just because its a world title.

I have something against Groves because he's a prick. It's not my fault that that's one of the main attributes you need to be involved with Hayemaker.

I'm so tired of hearing this crybaby. Groves and Marquez should have a party in crybaby land where they drink each other's piss.

If you hadn't watched the froch - groves fight you could have sworn froch's entourage jumped into the ring WWE style when the referee wasn't looking and punched groves to weaken him. But no, that's not what happened. What happened was he got hit with a vicious combination and was on his way out of here. Yes the ref stopped it early but this isn't the huge robbery groves is making it out to be.
