Comments Thread For: Froch: Groves Rejected Seven Figure Rematch Offer

I said this earlier so I guess I was right about the lowball split.
He does at the very least deserve the 25/75 split that the IBF mandates. Plus there won't likely be any options on Groves if he wins.I remember Eddie Hearn said the Groves rematch would make Froch ₤5 million. If that's true (big if. I'm kind of skeptical), I would also think a 15/85 split is kind of low for what he brings to the table.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 01-24-2014, 12:21 PM.Comment

Thats if U take Frochs word for it? He could be lying or leaving out information. If the challenger turns down the fight what can the governing body do?
Seriously why would you blame a champion if a fight doesn't go ahead if the loser of the first fight refuses the match with an oferf double the one he got for the first fight.
If the IBF try and follow through on that they'll be a laughing stock.Comment

The IBF is a poor rate organization, They didn't strip Peterson after he was found to have been on steroids, but they order a rematch after this fight ? they offer absolutely no consistencies in anything they do, Throw a pile of cash at them and you get what you want.Comment

Yes - IBF have ordered the rematch...lets see now if Froch as he said before he fought Groves would sooner fight Groves than vacate.
I think Froch has got himself in to a bit of a pickle here. He knows that Groves gave him more pain and trouble than any other opponent and at the back end of his career it must be a nightmare to think that the build up the fight and Groves lively , factual personae could yet again be right there in his face ...uh dear Carl..good luck....get it on and may the best man win!!!
