PROMOTER Eddie Hearn reckons he has just two weeks to convince Carl Froch of a £5million rematch with George Groves – or the fight is dead.

Hearn admits the IBF-WBA world super-middleweight champion is not keen on fighting his British rival again after their thrilling but controversial clash in November.

Froch, 36, stopped Groves in the ninth round but he had been losing the fight and referee Howard Foster’s decision to halt it was slammed as premature.

Londoner Groves, who decked Froch in the first round, even travelled to America this week for an appeal with the IBF about the fight’s outcome.

Groves, 25, is hoping the IBF order an immediate rematch with Nottingham’s three-time world champion and there is no other fight British boxing fans want to see more in 2014.

And Hearn remains hopeful Froch will agree to a rematch with Groves by the end of the month rather than opting to fight Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in Las Vegas.

He said: “I have had numerous conversations with Carl and George and I think the fight with Groves will happen. I am hopeful it will go ahead in May.”
It was Ward who called Froch to fight at the Wembley stadium. Now Froch is selling the tickets at this point -- he prefers the Groves fight, which is obvious. Why fight Ward, pay him a huge purse and get whooped into the process? What's so difficult to understand?
A c...
Well he's 37 this year and been through a lot of wars. Another loss and he might hang them up, it's obviously not a young Canelo situation with time on his side.
I guess you didn't read my first post... Never mind.
