Carl Froch: I'll give Groves a rematch - After Julio Cesar Chavez jr
Collapse

i'm not going to jump on carl froch for trying to make a ton of money with an easy fight. froch is at the end of his career. the groves fight was very hard on froch, and included him being all but out in the very first round. chavez jr does sell well.
that said, i've heard plenty of criticism from the UK crowd over ward wanting to fight chavez jr. I will get a good laugh if froch somehow fights him first.
then, when prince dre fights chavez jr, he'll be "froch's leftovers."
cobra UD if it does happen. i don't think it will. he's slow, but so is JR. cobra will find ways to make jr miss, and give it the old nottingham shoulder roll to win the rounds. the one-two, innit?
Maybe even do a bute on him if he comes in that sort of shape.Comment

Why in the world would Froch gives Groves a rematch now, it would not make sense if he has the Chavez card, no doubt. Let Groves have a few fights, let him built his name off someone else than Froch, so when they meet again, the demand will be even bigger.
Further than that, the arrogance of Groves is starting to annoy me, how can a guy, who lives in Britain be so disrespectful to one of the truest warriors in the whole game?! I don't get it, and I don't like it. Groves haven't done **** and he is acting like he is a champion. I understand that Froch don't feel like going in there again, straight away. Let him get some confidence himself, by beating Chavez in the states.Comment

jr is bigger than froch. it sounds crazy, but it's the truth. he has a very good chin, and he can punch himself.
i think froch tries to box, the way he did against abraham.
maybe prime froch stops him, but i tend to doubt it. i think prime froch boxes him to an even wider decision.Comment

At the same time, the best jr has faced is Martinez, who was a couple of years removed from his absolute peak. Other than that, he hasn't faced anyone who cracks like Froch cracks.
And I think he's in for a big big surprise if, of course, Froch comes in the same devastating shape as we've been used to in the last 5 years.Comment

But he's nowhere near the fitness level or dedication as Froch. Froch has naturally wider shoulders and is fit as a fiddle. The same can really not be said about jr.

devastating shape,
bro, he's getting old. there's no "if he comes in shape this time."
froch is one of the better conditioned athletes in boxing. he stays fit year round. his performances of late haven't been a product of his not being in shape. they're a product of the hard punches he's taken in victory and defeat.
i also think you're overrating froch's power. he didn't stop anybody in the super six. he stopped bute and mack, and got the groves gift. otherwise, he hasn't stopped anybody since jermain taylor [who was himself shot.] bute has a crap chin, and was one of the most overrated fighter of the last 10 years. with a solid ref, liberado andrade would have a stoppage over him. mack not only ******, he was brought down to 168 for the first time in several years.
i'd love to see froch stop chavez jr. i don't think he will.
i actually don't think this fight has an iceberg's chance in hell of happening in vegas.Comment
