It seems just like last year with the Guerrero fight. Many were speculating that an announcement would come at the Super Bowl since CBS was airing it but that didn't happen. I believe it wasn't announced until late February.
Alot of that had to do with them trying to get Canelo on the undercard but he wouldn't do it without Floyd guarantee the winners fight. Canelo ended up headlining his own show against Trout in April.
This delay may also have to do with trying to secure a quality undercard.

        I mean really?

That's what taking them too long to announce the fight. In short, forget about who he fights next. It's about the undercards.

I'm guessing they'll try to add Broner/Maidana 2 in there, considering Money Mayweather has been dying to get Broner in his undercards.
The only reason it is about the undercards is because the rest of the boxers can't compete. That's not Floyd's fault. You think Maidana or Khan will do any better than Canelo? Doubt it

Hmm sounds like Maidana is a strong possibility.

Dont care for either fight but Khan vs Mayweather is definitely the more interesting/exciting fight of the two.

I'm hoping they put Thurman on the card and build him up for a future fight with Floyd.

The delay had more to do with him switching from HBO to Showtime than anything else.

I don't see why everyone is talkin about the undercard causing the delay. They can announce the main event and then announce the undercard at a later date.
