Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury-Gonzalo Omar Basile on February 15th

It has been announced that heavyweight contender Tyson Fury (21-0, 15KOs) will return to the ring against current IBF Latino & WBC Latino champion Gonzalo Omar Basile (61-8, 28KOs) on February 15th at The Copper Box Arena in London. Basile is big but very susceptible to power punchers, as he was knocked out in four rounds by Artur Szpilak in 2012. Fury has been inactive since knocking out Steve Cunningham last April. Two planned dates to face David Haye fell through when the Hayemaker withdrew with injuries.

Its in 3 weeks, he needs to get back in the ring instead of wasting time

After many months of inactivity because of Haye twice pulling out, Fury needs a warm-up. So at this point in time, Basile is an acceptable opponent.

Better to be paid to practice than to pay for it.

the next opponent needs to be someone durable or else warren might get the edge. tbh i dont know why warren is obsessed with fury when he could get chisora to be mandatory against wlad and probably get more that way, im pretty sure lepai is geting 7 figures.

I am looking forward to this card just for the fun of it :-)

Tyson, Hughie and Chisora on one card is entertainment to me. I wanna see if chisora has improved from his previous match where he seemed to neglect the jab.

I have to agree on the disappointment, but Haye was at fault, so I'm not upset at Fury. Just the same, Basile is a huge step down all the way around. The best they can say about him is that he's big. He's a heavyweight, he's supposed to be big.

Disappointing selection, but as others have said, the fight is less than a month away.

I hope Fury is matched with a genuine, competitive HW after this.
