For the record Mighuel Cotto did ducked Paul Williams, Paul's promoter Goosen did contact Arum about the fight and Arum said it was not in Cotto's plans to fight Williams, this was seeing by everyone on the post presser after Williams decisioned Margarito in Los Angeles....Cotto ducked Williams....

Cotto should stop acting like if he is on his prime....and stop putting all of these road blocks for the Martinez fight...Maybe he knows that martinez wil be too mucho for him and might be ko by the Argentinian star.

Not sure what is going on with this fight, but if negotiating for these two can take time then I can imagine how negotiating for a Mayweather - Pac fight was a pain with their egos.

Then how come Cotto who has fought EVERYBODY has never had a problem like this before? Not with Mayweather, not with Pacquiao, not with Mosley, not with Margarito or for the rematch...

It is just Martinez who thinks he is some sort of star or something when he is not. He needs to get back from Cloud Ballerina and face reality.

And FALSE, it is Martinez who needs this fight more than Cotto does. Cotto can still get paid big with Canelo or a Mayweather / Pacquiao rematch. Martinez has no such choices unless he wants to get drained.

Not true.. thats why Cotto & Pacquiao never rematched.. Cotto didnt want the catchweight.. and Cotto shouldnt be such a pain especially if wants to be the first PR to win a title in 4 divisions (or 5) whatever it is.. Martinez is the champ.. and hes looked horrible lately.. take the fight.. its winnable.. i ll be there if it happens.

Not sure if Cotto ducked Paul Williams.. but PWilliams was outboxed by Carlos Quintana (who Cotto had destroyed) and later won a contreversial decision vs Martinez, and we know what happened in the rematch

So he was supposed to take less money than he would have made fighting one of welterweights boogeymen In a PR/MEX PPV SUPERFIGHT to fight someone with no fanbase for your pleasure.... no one was clamoring for Cotto-Williams at any point.

Its called negotiations, he who has the most leverage will have more control of the negotiations. Martinez can't fill the MSG on his own, he will do well again in Argentina but that is about it. Cotto fought a nobody in Orlando and it was a sell out and they had to add more seats.

There is not other options in the immediate future for either guys so I doubt that this fight is not goint to get signed.

I would like to know at what point did Cotto ducked Williams. I didn't know that there were on a collission course back then. Williams was all over the scales and never owned a particular weight class so he would be the man to beat or be the mandatory. He was just looking for the biggest pay day out there. The Ballerina Maravilla and his diva ways. I really want this fight to get made but if it doesn't, it is one less fight away from a Golovkin showdown. And I would love to see Martinez get destroyed by Triple G until he can't move no more and is laying on the canvas awkwardly with his eyes rolled back.

The ballerina needs to get it thru his head, Cotto is one of the top 3 PPV names in the sport; he is who calls the shots in this deal. This could very well be his last and BEST payday, he won't get this type of money anywhere else and at HIS OWN WEIGHT (no cw bs). Didn't Paul Williams get ouboxed by Carlos Quintana? Oh yeah that's right he did. Took an immediate rematch, fought Andy Kole, and them moved to JMW to fight Verno Philips. That was in 2008 while Cotto was healing from the Margo fight.

Everyone talks about Paul Williams being this monster that nobody wanted to fight without actually knowing the facts. Cotto didn't duck Paul Williams.

I'd love it explained to me how he did if he did.

Cotto was scheduled to fight Margarito assuming he got past Williams. He didn't. So Cotto should have fought Williams. He didn't.
