Manny Pacquiao’s offer to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. “anytime, anywhere,” with all proceeds going to worldwide charities, has won the admiration of Top Rank’s Bob Arum.

The astute promoter told the BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard that Pacquiao’s unprecedented offer was “an incredible statement for the sport of boxing,” and it had his full support.

While Arum did concede that “money is important,” he believed that Pacquiao’s offer was a major boost for the sport of boxing.

Pacquiao earlier scoffed at the claim that he was only looking to fight Mayweather for the money.

Arum been full of ****....Pac is another example of how association breeds similarities!!...they need to cut the bs and REALLY pursue the fight....Pac should reach in his bag of money he got stashed in his volt in the crib and break Arum off something nice and go indy for the Floyd fight and double up....Pac is bigger than Arum or any promotional company in the sport....dude can make moves without Arum and benefit way more....every fighter can't do that so Pac is major.....someone close to him should be telling him that....Arum is in the way!!

The first negotiations for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight began in late 2009. On December 11, 2009, Golden Boy Promotions sent a fight contract on behalf of Mayweather to Top Rank, Pacquiao's promoter. The contract reportedly stipulated a March 13, 2010 fight date, and proposed a 50-50 financial split between the two sides.[1] Mayweather also demanded that Olympic-style drug testing be conducted by the United States Anti-Doping Agency, which would entail random blood and urine testing through the day of the fight.[2] This stipulation would prove to be a point of contention between the camps. Pacquiao refused to have any blood testing within 30 days from the fight, because he thought it would weaken him, but he was willing to have blood taken from him before the 30-day window as well as immediately after the fight.[11] Furthermore, Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's trainer, commented that he would not allow blood to be taken from Pacquiao one week before the fight.[12][13] In an attempt to resolve their differences, the two camps went through a process of mediation before a retired judge. Only deluded idiots clamor for a fight that is long past its shelf-life bro. The time to have seen this fight was years ago when Pac was perceived to be so great, now when he loses the excuses will flow even freer. The fact of the matter is there is no one who poses as big of a threat to Floyd at 147 then Manny Pacquiao. We have seen Floyd fight all the same fighters as Pacquiao but we have yet to see them fight.......
Arguably the highest most publicized boxers of the later 2000's all dominating multiple weight classes and PPV, fighting at the same weight class for years now and the fight still has not happened. Not fighting Pacquiao will severely hurt Floyds legacy because though we know Pac's last two losses have effected his rank on top Welterweights right now we no he is the best. Let me paint it clearly if Amir Khan, Paulie Malignaggi, Broner didn't get a Mayweather fight do you think in a million years they would choose to face Pacquiao as a second option...No. What is getting ridiculous is when champions and self proclaimed Floyd contenders take toon up fights because "washed up" Pacquiao is going to guarantee them a loss (Broner, Paulie). Even Maidana who would fight Pacquiao would get steam rolled by him.
