    Khan's Market Value Overestimated?

Do you guys feel like people are overestimating the earning power for a Khan fight? I personally don't think he's a star in the US, in fact, he never has been. Even when he had his best wins GBP were giving away free tickets a hotels to get a crowd in, and now his value has gone down even more after that last 2 fights.
Obviously they are relying on the UK to get PPV revenue, but even here he's not very liked. He's famous but not a public favourite at all.
Also, it's interesting that Showtime would allow for this fight because they ain't getting this overseas money, and you would think they would make another loss like the Guerrero fight, or most likely even worse.

His value is being blown way out of proportion, especially after the diaz fight. A lot of the floyd spastics seem to be under the impression that he's some kind of mega star over here in England, which simply isnt the case.

The fight will do well on PPV over here. Khan is not as big a star as Ricky Hatton but then Floyd is a much bigger star in the UK now than he was at the time of the Hatton fight. Floyd will sell his fair share of UK PPVs so I suspect he'll be getting a substantial cut of that revenue.

I'm sure the UK people are excited to see how bad Floyd beats him after Diaz knocked him around

A lot of people who will buy this fight around the world won't even have seen the Diaz fight. They'll know the name Amir Khan and know that he's fighting Floyd Mayweather and that's all it will take.

The casual fan is what brings the PPV buyrate up.

            think about it this way

if khan fought mayweathers last opponent, canelo. canelo would ktfo khan in the earlier rounds. so mays fighting someone the lst person he beat would prolly ktfo in 2 rds.

I wonder what Khan's purse would be for this fight--$400k? $800k?

The British public have never fully warmed to Khan, which is a little sad as he always tries his best, and I've got the impression since Garcia that his stock has dropped a fair bit here. This fight will only sell well here if the public(casual fans included) believe that he has a chance at winning, something which even the casual fan knows is not realistic.

IF GBP decide to go with this fight, dont be surprised if it doesnt do all that well here. Khan needs to get the British public to believe in him again and his last 3 fights have only created more doubts.

I'm floored. Khan is a lucky man. Been nowhere yet $6m in payday. That's why boxing is suck in a bad state while Floyd is still here.
