They would have probably picked up this bs fight of GGG's if they could have.
They sure are getting their asses kicked

And yet HBO had more fights in FOTY contention (including the winner) and 13 of 15 most watched bouts.

Didn't care for when HBO bought Berto fights either but Showtimes numbers have gone up 51 percent since Hersham left and that is a fact. Plus, I already wrote that HBO has 25 percent more viewers that is why their numbers overall LOOK better and should be better then Showtime. Plus some of those in the top 25 is when HBO was still working with GBP. Bottom line is Showtime was a distant second and now they are considered #1 with 25% less subscriptions. That is amazing. Imagine if Showtime had equal subscriptions with HBO, they would have killed HBO last year. HBO needs to get rid of Hershman at HBO with someone else who will manage HBO and get the best fights out there for us boxing fans. Whether you like TR or GBP or certain fighters, HBO isn't buying the best fights that can be made because of the executives there and their board members are not happy. Be honest, are you happy with Gennady fighting this bum on 2/1 or Stevensen fighting Fonfara? NO. If HBO said, we aren't paying for you fight b/c level opponents but we will pay good money for you to fight a or b opponents, then you would see better fights for us fans. If their choice was making little money on ESPN or fighting on HBO for six or seven figures, they would fight these guys they don't want to fight. Period. But HBO doesn't do that because they are afraid they will lose the fighters to Showtime or GBP.

          Improving means killing them?

The fight was offered to Geale and Murray but an untelevised fight in Monaco doesn't carry a big budget and also doesn't give a fighter much exposure, so to answer your question, no they can't get a better opponent

Damn, that sucks. There is a boxing drought right now, and I am thirsty.

Andre Berto is a prime example of a guy with a lot of exposure but all of his appearance fight and 6-7 figure paydays fighting C level guys really ended up hurting HBO in the end. I'm not just singling out Berto, under Greenburg they over payed for a lot of low quality fights.

Ross Greenburg practically sank HBO doing that sort of thing.
