What makes Floyd's fights so much more exciting than Rigondeaux's?
Because Rigo dwarfs Floyd in boxing ability he can actually drop someone with a single punch

Rigo IS basically a dwarf Floyd, but I wouldn't say he "dwarfs" him in actual boxing ability. They are comparable for sure but Rigo seems to make more mistakes

147 obviously a much more popular place. People generally have never been into the little guys in boxing

To make it even worse, Floyd does it against B level fighters, and Rigo does it against A level fighters.

I think it has everything to do with the way both of them are packaged. The fact that Rigo doesn't speak English kills his every waking ability to crossover. Floyd on the other hand speaks it, not necessarily at the queens level, but enough to articulate himself and prove points he needs to

Rigo is a masterful boxer. No doubt about it but in life you need cosigns and Rigo doesn't get enough of it because its harder to package him to the GP. You'd have to make him seem like a silent killer. Or someone who was an animal. That way he'd never have to speak english because his style would speak for him.

Clear double standard: But the way of the business

First of all, FMJ earned his due at a time when there were just as many true boxing fans as casual fans, today the number of true boxing fans have declined and networks rely on the casual fan to make up the big numbers they are looking for. But even Floyd's numbers are declining , just look at the Guerrero fight. Showtime claims the fight did 1 million PPV buys but to this day still haven't released the actual numbers.

Floyd talks up his fights into events
that creates more of a buzz than his actual fighting is worth action wise
Floyd isn't anything special to watch, but he isn't flat out boring either
it's easy to appreciate what Floyd does even if it's not scintillating
not Rigo though, fuck him, he's fucking BORING
don't mind Floyd, he does enough to be satisfying in the ring
get Rigo the fuck off TV and never let him back on, boring twat

You couldn't have picked an area in which they are more polar opposites.
                  Agree with this.

Mayweather gets criticized, what are you talking about?

Any hate they get (or neglect) is brought upon themselves, by themselves. Period.

This is a gladiator sport, they don't have fan friendly styles and that is going to bring upon a lot of criticism. Period. End thread.

It took Floyd a long time to be recognized. He needed that ODH fight to catapult him into the casual fan limelight. Rigo needs the same thing, problem is there's not too many big names at the weight class he fights in and his promoters do nothing to get his name out there. I think If he and Donaire had an epic trilogy of fights he'd be well known throughout but he thoroughly outclassed the best fighter out there at the time.
