He has a good resume but he loses most of his big fights. It doesn't make you the King of anything. I respect him but I'm not gonna suck his scrotum for no good reason.

He's had his fair share of cherry picks himself and lets not act like he's taking this fight out of the goodness of his heart. He has a clear strategy in mind.

Is this a jokr? His share or cherry picks? Fought pac, mayweather, margarito twice, mosely, judah, malignaggi, clottey, in addition to other tough fights like undefeateds foreman , torres and quintana. Who did he avoid?

Cotto's drawing power is not the same. He's lost some of that leverage. Martinez wouldn't have dropped to 154 lbs. Cotto already tried and failed to get a catchweight, which would favor him more than Martinez. Cotto is trying to get any advantage he can possibly get against Martinez. Martinez told him to go to hell with some of the demands.

Cotto wanted to come into the ring second, Martinez told him to go to hell too. I think you're overestimating Cotto's leverage. Canelo Alvarez is the third biggest draw behind Pacquaio (second) and Mayweather (first). And Canelo being third isn't even arguable anymore.

thats a silly thing to say. cotto fought a nobody in his last fight on Hbo, got paid 3 mil and had the highest ratings for a network boxing event for last year. Again he fought a nobody.

But i dont agree with "He loses most big fights".. He lost to Floyd and Manny which is respectable. He lost to a Cheat in Margarito and he lost to Trout which i believe was more of a style match up, not to mention Trouts size is awkward.

but hes had some great wins against good names tho.

he was also out of shape against trout and for some reason he was fighting a more defensive fight against a fighter who has very little offense. Cotto wasnt aggressive enough and like Roy Jones said, Fighters like Cotto who have been in with the best and is one of the best find it hard to get up for opponents like trout.

Why do people on this web site refer to fans in derogatory ways. Seriously there are worst Boxers you could be a fan of then Cotto, and if someone idolizes him so what. ive seen pac fans say pac would have beaten Ali, i mean ive never seen a Cotto fan say that. Most people respect Cotto because he has taken the Biggest challenges at every weight, and until the Margarito fight he was one of the most avoided fighters.Let his fans love him, like pac, mayweather and whoever. i just dont understand why people on here attack others for talking up their favorite boxers.

as i said before, Cotto was going to spar with GGG in prep for the Margaritto fight. GGG's trainer decided not to at the last minute saying it would be unfair to both fighters because Cotto was already in top form because he was in his last week at big bear and GGG was just coming in. Do not be surprised if Cotto were to defeat Martinez, then fights GGG in a title defense. Of course he has to defeat Martinez first.
