"Blame Bob Arum for No Pac-Floyd Fight" Dan Rafael ESN January7, 2012

    http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id...yweather-fight

Quote: "Arum figured Mayweather would be in jail and off the table. Now that Mayweather is available and seemingly would like to make the match, Arum suddenly isn't interested. He used the lame excuse of the cut Pacquiao suffered against Marquez, saying he might not be ready for May. (I've never heard of a cut taking more than six months to heal.) However, earlier this week, when Arum thought Mayweather would be on ice behind bars, he said there was a good possibility Pacquiao would fight in May. Moments after Mayweather was granted the continuance, Arum changed his tune."

Quote: "We're fighting in June, one of the four guys," Arum told me over the phone. I asked him, now that Mayweather was available, would he at least be part of the conversation when Arum meets with Pacquiao next week?
A perturbed Arum's response was, "Absolutely not. Nope." Come again? You won't even talk about it with Pacquiao, I asked very politely. "My mission is to go over to the Philippines and talk about these four guys," Arum said. "If Manny feels he wants to go in May, he will tell me. I want to make sure Manny's cuts are healed. We won't fall under this kind of pressure. June is much more likely for Manny's fight, not May."(End Quote)

It is what it is! Arum didn't want the fight to happen! It's not about the $40 million, it's about control. If Manny wants the fight, he should do what Cotto did, BE YOUR OWN MAN! Who there in TR at 140 or 147? GBP is WAY deeper. He could be a free agent and be MUCH BETTER OFF! It makes no sense!
You just layed down some serious pa(turd road kill. Don't be surprise if this idiot comes back with something irelevent or off topic. Dude does it all the time after getting smoked.

I guy who makes his living fighting is scared of another fighter? So I guess Pac is afraid of Bradley because he rather face a much stylistically favorable fighter in Ruslan. Roach said that Bradley is too good of a boxer and he could give them trouble so the easier fight would be Ruslan....

JMM called Floyd out and Floyd accepted, it only took Mayweather one try to beat the **** of JMM. notice Juan never screamed for a rematch. Saul said he would fight Mayweather at 152, so May took him at his word

40 million looks pretty good for a guy who has money issues
yeah right ..... like what he said even made any sense.

Manny's record: Manny had a very impressive record in 2009/2010/2011 but did Floyd jump on that and made the fight? If the reason is Manny's recent record, then why was it OK to face Ortiz who didn't avenge his loss and quit and was knocked down TWICE in the fight before Floyd and had only 1 fight at WW!!!

So it was Canelo that wanted the CW or was it Floyd that had him go down to 152 and who actually wanted Canelo to go down further?

So Marquez called out Floyd and Floyd fought him right away. So what? Should we all be impressed that Floyd took on a guy that was fighting at 130 the year before and that Floyd went 2lbs above the initially agreed CW?

At the time $40 million was not good as they deserved closer to 50/50 back in Jan 2012 and Manny was ready to compromise.

From the moment that Floyd Mayweather came out of retirement to the minute that Manny Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum declared the fight to be off, all of the major events that dominated the headlines are included. Only the facts are included in this definitive timeline. Links to mulitple outside references have been included for each date, so fans can draw their own conclusions as to what went wrong at each step of the way.

It seems like two different issues to me . Manny said this now because Floyd's been saying that manny wants a fight now to get him out of tax trouble and manny basically said I don't need ur money let's fight for free and give it away.

Manny's call him out on Floyd's accusation towards him.

                Time table?

You seriously think that I'm going to check out all the dates? Do the dates really matter at this point? The point is that Floyd declined and stalled and put roadblocks and has had interviews from 2010 and as recently as 2014 that he is not interested in fighting Manny.

                  Manny:
                  http://www.boxing insider.com/headlines/pacquiao-accepts-may-5th-date-arum-yet-to-respond-to-official-statement/

                  Arum:
                  http://blacksportsonline.com/home/20...happen-in-may/
Now I was able to pull up the boxing insider article you sent me and it said this about Manny wanting to fight on May 5th:

"This statement is interesting because it seems to go counter to what his promoter and advisors are telling the public. Perhaps Pacquiao is listening to his fans and is willing to give them what they want. Maybe there’s some dissent amongst Pacquiao’s camp. However, now that an official statement has been posted on Pacquiao’s official website, it appears that the ball is back in Mayweather’s court, and Bob Arum’s. "

How can Manny say one thing and his promoter say something different? What's really goin' on? This just keeps happening to Manny but he stays anyway. It's real ******!

Well this can't be true, or why would he insist that Mayweather follow him off the cliff into poverty? Why not just give your purse away Manny if you don't need the money, why tie Floyd to that unless Pac isn't being wholly sincere?
