Fight never seemed fixed to me.

1st, Clottey came to lay down. Survival mode from beginning to end and that was his plan going in.

2nd, Clottey is not that good.

margarito and mosley both hurt cotto, and that's when he backpedaled, same as the pacqauio fight. he had a comfortable lead against mosley.

against margrito, he tried his hardest until he hit the wall and ended up on the ropes. against manny he stopped trying after the second knockdown.
I got you, but the reason I didn't mention Cotto was because I was used to him fighting tentative against other boxers. I couldn't say he was more 'scared' after Pacquiao hurt him than when Mosely or Margarito hurt him.

My original point was I think it's a myth that boxers are either scared to fight Pacquiao or get scared once in the ring with him. Tyson scared other boxers. Heck, I would even say Margarito scared Kermit Cintron than I've ever seen Pacquiao scared anyone.

i don;t think anybody was "scared" of manny leading into teh figth, but many of them clearly demonstrated that his power was enough to worry them, and change the way they fought.

clottey and mosley had great chins, and they completely abandoned the idea of winning once they saw that little manny could hurt them. cotto had a good/pretty good chin, and he stopped trying to win himself. oscar was shot, but manny's power to the head and body had him tentative. like clottey and mosley, oscar had a great chin. part of the reason these guys were tentative was also the speed.

marquez, margarito, hatton, all fought manny without respect for his power. margarito should have been stopped, hatton obviously was.

marquez is a great counterpuncher with what should be two decisive wins over manny.

if we go further back, pacquaio's handspeed, in addition to his power and his chin in exchanges made him a guy that you didn't want to trade with at FW.
