Is the HBO Booth better without Roy Jones?

I think so. The last fight was commentated perfectly without him there. I would like to see HBO mix it up with other boxers in the booth. Ward does okay sometimes, but I'd like to see them widen their horizon.

Hell no, Roy isn't afraid to be contrary and stay out of the HBO circle jerk. I don't always agree with Roy but he makes HBO tolerable.

No. Sometimes the constant disagreements between Roy and Max can get annoying, but Roy provides excellent insights.

I find him to be very inconsistent. He's excellent in some fights, but at times he seems too excited and can't formulate a sentence. He does have good insight when he speaks to how the boxers likely feel during the fight.

I don't think HBO is a circle-jerk at all. Max K. was putting rigo in his top 3 p4p when the network wanted nothing to do with him. Max is always calling out judges.

Maybe it's just that Paulie has done so well at SHO that he has exposed Roy and his inadequacies.

"HE HURT JIM!!! HE HURT!!!!! PASCAL JUST HURT BUTE WITH THAT TWO HANDED PUNCH!!!

That excitement is what makes him real and likable. No one likes Max because he's too scripted and predictable. When things don't go as planned he falls apart and either gets quiet or struggles to change gears. Same as when he gives interviews. He sounds brilliant when it's a structured interview that he prepped but falls apart in post fight interviews.
The main prob is that Max needs someone who he has chemistry with. He doesn't have that in Roy.

Roy has worse English than Reggie Miller. Dude just doesn't know how to formulate sentences or speak correctly, irregardless of his excitement. I don't find it entertaining. I find if frustrating, and wish I could help him finish his sentences.

Max is calm and composed during all parts of the fight. He has intelligent interjections and dispositions. I think he needs to improve in post-fight interviews, but a lot of fighters all have the same script each fight. Thank god. Thank haymon. Going on vacation. Not thinking about next opponent.

I agree about chemistry. I think Max is just too intelligent for Roy. He has great chemistry with his fellow intellectual, Lampley.

                  Most definitely NOT.

I enjoy Roy Jones 's commentary, and it gives some relief to the agenda-driven garbage that comes out of Max Kellerman's mouth.

I think Jones & Lampley would be better without Kellerman.

Here's your hero trying to speak the language called English:

This is a perfect example of Roy Jones talking. Excellent insight as usual.
