Its an interesting fight, but Gennady hasn't fought anyone with good defense or movement. Also, he has little head movement and will be there for pretty much every one of Floyd's counter punches. His jab is stiff and strong but slow, and will be countered often, I think. He has really good fundamentals, but I'd have to see him against better competition before I favor him to beat Floyd. Macklin and Stevens are impressive wins, though. But, as of now, the only advantage he has against Floyd is his size and punching power. He doesn't do any one thing better than Floyd
How would Floyd deal with GGG in the ring?

Floyd dont belong in the ring with Triple G
He is bigger than Canelo
Even at a CW Triple G has all the advantages
That doesnt take anything away from Floyd, but there are weight classes for a reasonComment

Floyd would be full of nervous energy, jerking worse than he did with Canelo in the first few rounds which was hilarious, but Canelo did not take command, GGG would take command , cut the ring off and begin to KILL JR's body and any shot to his head will dump him on his scrawny AZZZZZZIn my thread I created for ranking credible threats people would like to see Floyd face GGG keeps coming up as a choice but people immediately dismiss it as a fight Floyd would never take due to the legitimate risk involved.
How would Floyd deal with a GGG attempting to walk him down all night? Cotto as able to get to Floyd with some level of success. Would GGG be able to do the same amount and potentially worse damage than Cotto did?
for GOOD !!

You're terribly underestimating GGG's skillset. He's an excellent technician, very accurate, one of the best jabbers in boxing right now and one of the best at cutting the ring off. You don't beat all the guys he beat in the amateurs without having a high skillset. The only thing going for GGG is a massive size and power advantage... You're asking how does the reiging best fighter on the planet deal eith a guy whos never fought a top 5 guy in the division? Simple. Rehydration clause. Giant ring. Giant gloves. Non title 10 round fight, favorable ref, 2 judges, and does this while paying off whoever the "opponent" was to get injured all while training for GGG secretely then giving GGG one-two weeks notice THEN he potshots all night while (may)weathering the first 2-3 rounds.
>__>... Does that sound sad to you? If it does its because that ish CAN happen. Maybe except the one-two week notice but its all feasible on the neotiating table.
Anyway... Floyd is the infinitely better fighter from what we've seen for i dunno... 15 years? Maye some day he'll show to be better, who knows but Floyd is the sure thing. GGG MIGHT not even be the best middle.
Like GGG, but the topic should ONLY be how Floyd deals with big size and power. You're not going to go from cornering Ishida and Stevens one year to having that be a legitimate tactic vs Floyd in a giant football stadium sized ring. Not at this stage in his career..Comment

Floyd is on another level than GGG. If GGG was born a WW fighter he would get dominated. Skill-wise its a joke to compare him to Floyd, even some of the top WW champions would cream GGG if his a natural WW
Andre Ward would expose GGG. Why won't he fight him?Last edited by lamadoo; 01-19-2014, 02:29 AM.Comment

Floyd wouldnt get touched by GGG.
Canelo and GGG are very similar in fighting styles. While GGG applies more pressure, floyd would make it hard for GGG to hit him. GGG would be forced to boxComment

GGG is just as skilled if not moreso than Castillo, who beat Floyd and fought to a near draw in the rematch. Floyd can't handle that style while giving up such size ontop of it.Comment

fight him.
