Tyson had a bully mentality. Anyone that could fight and wasn't afraid of him would give him problems. He was completely owned by Douglas when he was still young, Quick Tillis gave him nine kinds of hell, Tony Tucker ditto, and Holy owned him once, and was on his way to some serious ownage the second time before Tyson tried to eat his ear. He let himself get hammered by Williams, whom he never tried to rematch, and then gave up like a ***** vs. McBride. I'm sorry, I don't think I've ever seen anyone do those things and still be considered a legend.

Vitali retired, with the WBC title, he wasn't undisputed, and the only claim he had was that he got the Ring title, why I don't know. His resume wasn't better than Byrd's and he didn't beat the man who beat the man. Did he look like the most impressive HW? Yes, but that has to be backed up in the ring.

Fights against 3 outta shape fighters in Williams, Sanders, and Johnson, did not back up his claim to the throne. As far as I'm concerned they are all pretenders, until unification takes place.

Thats the only way to determine the TRUE champ, get all the belts.
I think he owes it to himself to return, he needs to try to train and if his body doesnt hold up then screw it, but I think he knows that a lot of questions were left unanswered and I think that is what might push him to come back...

As for Rahman, he beat Barrett, Meehan, and those five tomato cans, that is way more warranted of a title fight, than coming off a two year layoff, and getting a shot.

Rahman did it in the ring, if Vitali gets a shot, he will not have done it in the ring.
they give him the emeritus because of his injury, I think it was the right thing to do...

as I said before Lewis was at the right price at the right time, hes resume isnt better then byrds or ruizes, he was the king of a wack decision even worse then it is now...

.....You are correct. Tyson was a "legendary" quiter when things got rough in the ring. He was the consumate front runner who was fine as long as things went his way. As soon as things didn't go his way you could tell that his miniscule brain was lost as to what to do. He is the living version of the age old story of standing up to the neighborhood bully. Once people stood up to him we found out what he was all about.

The question I have is: how are voters in Kiev going to react to this? If I was a Vitali fan there I might be inclined to vote against him so that he would have to get back into boxing, lol.
