Comments Thread For: Pascal-Bute An Event Satisfying A Nation's Demand

By Jake Donovan - If there was any question of this weekend’s showdown between Jean Pascal and Lucian being as big as advertised, you needn’t look any further than the box office totals.

“We’ve sold more than 20,000 tickets and are expecting a completely full house on Saturday night,” said Yvon Michel, Pascal’s promoter who presents this weekend’s even in association with Interbox (Bute’s promoter) at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The venue holds more than 21,000 for boxing, and it is expected to be standing room only for a card that represents HBO’s first boxing telecast of 2014.

The telecast will open with a scheduled 10-round heavyweight bout between unbeaten Mike Perez – a Cuban ****er who calls Ireland home these days - and Spain’s Carlos Takam. [Click Here To Read More]

I dunno who to pick. Bute has last fought Denis Grachev(?) and he didn't show a lot of confidence then and he's been out for a long time with no tune up. Pascal has had injuries abound and while staying marginally more active then Bute, has fought men far below his talent and skill level.

Pascal never fought a decent ****er.
But we don't know how much speed and power Bute still holds.

I had no idea there was still that much interest in these two. Good to hear though.

For those acting like this fight doesn't matter or like it is destined to be boring, some of the best fights are between guys who really need a major win. Great fights aren't only reserved for guys who are riding high.

A win means a lot to get back in the mix.

... while a loss means out of the picture for good...

Froch isn't a decent ****er? I think the Froch fight showed how tough as nails he is considering he can take bombs from Froch while gassed.

Right. Then: a decent one punch KO artist.

I'm pretty sure B-hop wasn't in prison when he became the oldest fighter to win a championship. He went to prison many years ago.
