How do you think Mikey Garcia would do against the other 130 pound beltholders, Takashi Miura, Rances Barthelemy, and Takashi Uchiyama? This is assuming he gets past Burgos.

I have no doubt he can beat all those guys.

Maybe he could fight Miura or Uchiyama on one of Top Rank's Macao events.

He'd unify in less than a year if they let him.

Well I don't know because he is having more trouble each time making weight. I believe he is very, very close of making the jump to 140. His performances will start taking major hits if he continues to drain himself. With that said, he should be able to beat them BUT I don't think it is worth it. There are bigger and better things if he just goes up in weight, it's beneficial to him in all aspects.

You think he's close to 140? I'm not sure if he's at that point yet. I wasn't under the impression he was struggling with 130. I imagine he'll make a stop at lightweight for Gamboa if nothing else. Garcia strikes me as the kind of guy who wants to fight the best, hence his desire to unify. What do you think there is for him at 135? Obviously, because of this promotional nonsense, he can't fight Danny Garcia at 140.

I think he beats Barthelemy and Miura. And I think Uchiyama beats Mikey. We haven't really seen Garcia in the deep waters, and I think Uchiyama would take him there and show more heart and guts to get the win.

He should just take the belts from the Japanese, move up.. by then Crawford should be a champion and more refined and they could make a unifying fight between Garcia and Crawford at lightweight.

True. He's very deceptive. He seems slow and not particularly well coordinated or technical but he's strong and he knows what he's doing and what works for him. Like Golovkin said, the weight stuff is putting a big question mark over him for me too. He's definitely at least got the ability to crack into the top ten p4p type guys.

He destroys everyone 135 and under. Too much skill and too sharp of a Ring IQ for all them. Just the way I see it
