Tales Of Tax Liens - Part II
Well duh. This is really a morality tale being played out in front of us "A fool and his money are soon parted." How well we remember when Roach said this:WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. says his next opponent will be decided within a week. One thing's for sure, it's not Manny Pacquiao.
Mayweather Jr., who arrived in South Africa on Wednesday, said the following regarding his next opponent for May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas - "we don't know. We will know within the next seven days."

This how Manny is going to end up. He isn't going to make anywhere the money at the back end of his career as he did in the beginning. We've all seen the story play out before by some of the worlds best boxers. Fighters that made and lost a lot of money because they didn't know who to trust or that had very little commonsense, I suspect for Pacquiao its some of both.Roach tellingly explained to Brin-Jonathan Butler: “He’s broke because of that and all the people he flies around to his fights. He goes through money like you wouldn’t believe. He can’t say no. Of course he’ll have to keep fighting. He does now. He won’t be able to stop – it’s his life.”

I think what makes a situation like this harder is that people around the fighter are reluctant to tell them the absolute truth, they instead treat the fighters like gods and cater to their every whim. Fighters need to hear the truth about their lives, fans aren't doing Manny any favors by blindly defending him, indeed all they're doing is obscuring the truth even more.
Fans need to face reality, we're coming to the point in Manny's career where we're going to be seeing more and more diminishing returns for Manny the champ. We'll see plenty of decline, pain, scandal and a public extravaganza of money issues.Comment
