It looked a show stopper all the way. In many interviews he has said that it was the thought of his dead brother that made him him get up from that. I think he only stood up on the count of 9!

Barker was in the fight and there was one round to go. Don't know why he would quit. He tried to get back up but his balance was clearly compromised due to the injury.

Shame he will be remembered for the destruction by Sturm than his amazing comeback against Geale.

          Best of luck to him.

You never want to see a guy go out on an injury, but the silver lining is that the MW picture becomes clearer.

He's been plagued with injuries through out his career, it's unfortunate but fitting it's what forces his retirement. At least he got to fulfil his dream and I'll remember him for his efforts against Geale in a great fight.

Shame we never got to see him against the domestic rivals, I really hope we see the rest fight each other - middleweight is stacked right now for ze Brits.

if he were amiercan, i'd say that he'd be back. he's a brit, though, and those guys have much more discipline when it comes to turning down six figure paydays. i think they're better about not going broke

he made a lot of money and accomplished a good deal for a guy with relatively little talent.
                  i wish him the best.

when a 34 year old felix sturm knocks you out in two, it is time to retire. sturm beat the f#ck out of poor dazzling darren. i was not expecting it.

Real classy! What a ****ty thing to say. If you don't care about his retirement why comment at all. Your boxing knowledge is limited at best and your attitude sucks.
