On March 1st the rematch between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Bryan Vera will take place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Their first fight took place this past September in California. Chavez won a controversial unanimous decision that many observers felt should have been awarded to Vera.
The weight at which the fight was fought at was changed numerous times. At first it was going to be fought a few pounds over the middleweight limit but was then changed to the super middleweight limit of 168 pounds. When it was clear that Chavez wasn't going to be able to make weight, the limit was raised again, this time to 173 pounds.

Yeah Jr will not make weight that's a given, but it will not matter to Vera and team because they will still fight Jr. because of the $$$$$.
It's in Texas for a reason! Jr will not have to worry about pissing hot for a duaretic.
You are right. He will not take a post-fight drug test and the judges will complete their scorecards before the fight starts. The cards will read Chavez, 118-110, 117-111 and 116-114.
I think Chavez Jr is either not going to make the weight or the weight is going to get changed to something heavier again. I hope Brian Vera wins by KO.
I don't think Vera wins this and not because of crooked judges. When Chavez hit Vera he hit cleanly and visibly hurt Vera. Coupled with the fact that in the end rounds Chavez started to come on strong and Vera slowed down, maybe Chavez figures he can stand toe to toe and go hit for hit. Vera definitely needs a better game plan.
Man I'm tired of people talking s&@t about Chavez jr! If u don't care about him then don't watch the fight! He's been messing up lately but i think he needs a good trainer like Garcia and he will come back a lot better! I got Chavez by 9th round ko!
Of course he won't, the mild penalty of $200,000 per pound is a clear indication of that. But if Vera agrees to that then he can't complain. He is the one who needs the fight anyways, Chavez Jr is still a big name regardless. Jr won the first fight and not just "officially", like he actually did deserve the victory. He clearly won at least 7 rounds of that fight which secured him the fight. The robbery claims are fueled by the big dislike some people have towards Jr, nothing more nothing less.
