He doesn't need to take risky fights now so there is no chance of him ever not being betting favourite. When he was on his way up, there were a few that I thought he might lose, like the Castillo fight. Corrales was a very overrated win, guy was made for him. The Ricky Hatton fight would have been interesting if Joe Cortez had not been referee and called everything for Floyd. I've stated before that HBO ruined Floyds legacy by allowing him to pick his own opponents. They should have demanded the Pacquiou fight in 2010.

Well I had predicted Floyd would beat Mosley easily because he'd been inactive for so long, I think it was nearly a year and a half Mosley was out of the ring and he was going up against Mayweather. Recipe for disaster, he should have stayed busy and had some tune up fights, it was predictable that Mayweather would win that one easy.

The fight I thought Mayweather might actually have some difficulty in was his last fight against Canelo. Because although Canelo was young, he had a lot of experience at such a young age, in terms of the number of pro fights, he was fast, powerful, a good finisher and a decent boxer. And Mayweather wasn't getting any younger.

But Mayweather put on a masterclass - I think that's one of his best performances to date.

Ortiz, Baldomir, Judah, Guerrero - why take these fights when you are so heavily favoured to win? Pointless.

Well he did make 32 million for the Guerrero fight so maybe there was point in that.

Zab really didn't have any great footwork either..now imagine Manny moving around shooting straight lefts down the pipe and using different angles putting 4-5 punches together.
Floyd would have had The fight of his life and he knew it...
The thing you're omitting is that Manny is very undisciplined and defensively irresponsible. Zab did not over commit to anything and forced Floyd to be the aggressor which is when he had success. Manny is a rhythm fighter who is not disciplined and easily frustrated by feints etc which is why JMM always troubles him. The last thing Manny wants to do in the ring is think. Once he starts thinking, you have him right where you want him. Zab and Manny are 2 different animals and that was possibly the best version of Zab we've seen due to the personal history between the 2 but as usual, Floyd adjusted and the fight was over.

                  Masterclass performance.

                  "Mayweather put on a masterclass"

If it hadn't been for his insecurity as a fighter, it would have been. He asked for a catch-weight. Something that ATG fighters wouldn't have done. That was an example of him thinking he's smarter than he is. Canelo was a pale ghost in there. He was slow, plodding, and that win proved nothing at all.

He also lacks ring smarts, doesn't know what punch to throw and when to throw it, and his stamina sucks.
A lot of fighters have those same flaws lol. There aren't many master boxers out there with excellent stamina.

I would have picked Pacquiao in a heartbeat if that fight happened in 2010.
