Gamboa is not a huge small guy. He is bloated, but when we are talking about size, it always boils down to reach. Lets have a look at the reach of competitive fighters at 140lb.

Now lets compare Gamboa with fighters of a size similar to him.

Historically, the biggest factor in how far up in weight a fighter can successfully move has been his reach. Fighters start to look bad and falter when they start to face fighters who have a larger and larger reach advantage on them.

Gamboa is tiny. He shouldn't even be at 135, much less 140.

Wow Morales had a huge reach considering he fought at 130-135 for a long stretch of his career.

Mainly because Broner wants to try to win back his title from Maidana and it's a done deal. After Maidana kicks his ass again the Gamboa fight would be interesting but Gamboa does not fight for Golden Boy as far as I know so the fight probably would not happen.

I don't know why they don't make the Bradley-Pacquiao fight. That seems like a good 50-50 fight that would put Pacquiao right back near the top if he can win it. Pacquiao would KO Gamboa in my opinion but it would do nothing for him anymore than beating Khan will do anything for Mayweather except make him richer of course.
