Comments Thread For: Stevenson: Kovalev Fight Will Be Part of New HBO Deal

WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson had a whirlwind 2013. He started the year off by avenging his only career loss by stopping Darnell Boone. He followed that up with three more knockout victories, picking up the WBC strap in the process.

BoxingScene.com recognized his accomplishments by naming him our Fighter of the Year. The Quebec native said that he is very proud of what he achieved and that he plans on making this year even more successful.

Stevenson's plans must be Pascal-Bute winner, then Kovalev or his successor (unlikely) and then winner of that should get Andre Ward. Personally think the Kovalev fight is his toughest. Stevenson's whiskers are vulnerable, Kovalev may KO him. Ironically, Stevenson's power is equally as good and its a real pick 'em. Both these guys could, only could, knock Ward out if they could catch him

kovalev - pimp steven is one of the biggest fights in boxing. i'd buy it on ppv if they gave it a good undercard.

He'll go after the winner of Bute-Pascal - that would be huge in quebec no doubt.
Then probably choose a less good opponent and then cash out vs Kovalev, who he'll definitely lose to.

I know this is a good fight but I don't really care if it does or it doesnt. It's weird.

Pray for Pascal to win -- Bute will not take the Stevenson fight.

Fonfara seems to be the fight Stevenson was looking at (unless that comes before the 3 fight package), so I'd say Fonfara, Pascal (I agree with MDP, Bute ain't fighting Adonis), then Kovalev.

I can't see Fonfara lasting against Stevenson, but the other 2 are excellent fights, and Stevenson - Kovalev is about the hottest fight there is right now.
