Mayweather vs Kirkland?

Okay, NO ONE who has been around boxing for a long time ever uses the words ZERO as in ZERO shot or chances. I would pick Floyd but if you are 100% sure, if they fight, bet 1,000 bucks to my 10 bucks then cause if there no way Floyd can lose, you would have no problem taking my 10 bucks, right??? No one is ever 100% sure a fighter will win and should not be because Boxing is littered with huge upsets.Last edited by richardt; 01-13-2014, 01:30 PM.Comment

Huge mismatch...Kirkland punches are wild and he gasses out fast. Floyd wouldnt even have to use the jab....just throw that straight right and it would land most of the time.
This would be another cherry picked fight.Comment

Lol at the people who think Mayweather would KO Kirkland..come on, the guy has faced WAY bigger punchers then Money. Would he get picked apart? Of course!! But Mayweather would be on his bicycle all night that's for sure.Comment

And Mayweather would take some shots along the way simply due to volume. He would crowd Floyd and all I am saying is it would be better than Floyds last 5 fights. I'd expect Floyd to win a difficult fight but no one should be mislead into think that Kirkland wouldn't get his pound of flesh here and there.Comment

Dude, relax. What I'm willing to bet has nothing to do with the point. Kirkland has no chance at beating Floyd. Just semantics. This reminds me of the canelo talk. There are just certain fighters who are tailor made for Floyd. And Kirkland is one of them. I don't understand this obsession with pressure fighters around here. Kirkland has nothing that Floyd hasn't seen numerous times.
Kirkland can't even begin to compete with Floyd in any way skill or talent wise, but he's huge. He's the potential "weight classes for a reason" opponent people fooled themselves into thinking Alvarez was. Mayweather would have no problem hitting Kirkland or making him miss. He'd probably hurt him early. Really the only question is whether he can control Kirkland in the clinch. If he can, no difficulty whatsoever for Floyd.
What if he can't, and the fifth, sixth, seventh round rolls around? What if the size and ridiculous pressure Kirkland only knows how to bring starts to wear on the much smaller man? That's where questions would exist and this fight could be hard. Kirkland is a strange, strange case at 154. He's crude, has little skill or technique, and is dumb as a box of rocks. But he is a tank past the first couple of rounds. You have to either hurt him or have the strength to control him up close.Comment
