Because at least Kirkland poses some kind of threat with his power, size and relentlessness. What threat does Khan pose, aside from possibly stealing a round or two with shoe-shine flurries?

Kirkland doesn't pose a threat to Floyd. U know better. Not with sr in his corner anyeays.

Kirkland is very wild in the first round of fights and neglects his defence that's what makes me think Golovkin could stop him early.

Please don't tell me you think Khan is more of a threat.

Kirkland doesn't move his head, squares up and takes the kind of risk that would likely get him stopped. Go watch the Tapia fight, Tapia could have turned the fight in his favor had he capitalized on the right uppercut or a short chopping right hook whilst he was getting beat against the ropes. These are the kind of opportunities Mayweather isn't gonna miss out on.

I personally think Mayweather Kirkland makes for an interesting style matchup. No, Kirkland doesn't deserve the fight, but if it were to happen, I think it would be a good fight...

No threat at all, none? Come on. This would be a very tough physical fight for Floyd against a relentless, true JMW.

I'm not saying there is any reason for this fight to happen, just speaking hypothetically.

This is no walk in the park for Floyd. It would be very difficult for Floyd to keep Kirkland off of him.

Sigh...I really wonder if u guys understand what u are seeing. Kirkland would go through the whole fight throwing wildly until he realizes he's getting hit for no reason. Once the disappointment sets in, its over. Floyd has won. Kirkland has zero shot at beating floyd. Wouldn't even be competitive. Size alone doesn't win fights. And Kirkland has never been in the ring with anyone near that skill set. U don't rise to that occasion coming off beating a bum and a 2 year lay off. This is boxing. Not make believe. Sorry.

I agree. Kirkland would make Floyd very uncomfortable, regardless of the outcome and physically it would be grueling. Yes, there is a vast difference in skills but history is littered with examples of styles working against the Boxer for at least part if not all of the fight due to size, power. If nothing more, it would be interesting and more exciting than most of the guys Mayweather has fought.
