Lara has no name recognition, selling power, appeal (can't speak English), fanbase, and his style would be deemed "boring" in the casual fan's perspective. Would I like to see it? Yes I would, because I feel that Lara actually has a shot to win if there's fair scoring and I always wanted to see Floyd put his skills up against a guy from the Cuban school of boxing. But realistically, I can't see this fight coming together.
    ... You'll never see this.
The U.S. top fighters do not fight top guys from the Cuban and "Soviet" schools.

At 154, Floyd's greatest threat is Lara. I'm even more upset at Canelo's team for picking Angulo because Lara beating Canelo would've catapulted him to right where he would want to be in September for the Floyd sweepstakes. I don't think it's an accident that this fight easily sets up more winnable fights for Floyd (Canelo2/Angulo).

It's funny that Floyd's only competitive fights at 147 are Pacquiao and Bradley, yet we won't get those AND at 154, Lara won't be marketable enough. Guess Floyd fans get what they want: Khan/Guerrero-type fighters at ww and Canelo II/Cotto II/Angulo at jmw.

With this kind of planning, Floyd's 0 seems pretty locked.

You are aware Lara is NOT an aggressor, right? He's a counter puncher and so is Floyd, in a sense. This would be a boring ass fight.

Id rather see Floyd vs Cotto 2, instead of Lara run around the ring and getting thoroughly outclassed.
Floyd wont fight Manny or Bradley, the two most legitimate challengers at 147. People say they don't wana see him fight Khan and personally I wouldn't wana see him fight Maidana, so that leaves 154. AT 154 Lara is a decent fight.

Donaire v Rigo? (unless you're counting Nonito as Filipino).

If Donaire is to represent the best example for a "U.S. top fighter" I really rest my case...

No we actually want Floyd/Khan we're dying to see it. The pfp number fighting the greatest threat in existence for sure in Khan.

Not only did Angulo quit, he proceeds to bash Lara post fight. Sore losing at its finest.

Yeah but.....Lara would be the most skilled fighter Floyd has fought in a long time and he can crack. Cotto is the man but he's not the most skilled fighter available. I'd definitely watch the rematch though.
