Comments Thread For: Canelo: Alfredo Angulo is Going To Be a Very Tough Fight

Former junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-1-1, 30KOs) expects a very tough fight on March 8th, when he faces countryman Alfredo Angulo (22-3, 18KOs) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Canelo wants to test himself after losing a twelve round majority decision to Floyd Mayweather Jr. on September 14th in the same venue. Angulo looks a for a major win after coming close to upsetting Erislandy Lara last June, before suffering an eye injury in the tenth.

I hope El Perro kicks you ass!! Canelo is one of the biggest divas this sport has seen. How can you demand all of your fights to be in PPV now after losing your last fight in what I considered to be a pretty poor and pathetic performance. The interesting thing is though, I do believe Angulo can stop Canelo as crazy as it may look on paper.

I look forward to this Fight. If Canelo wins clearly I will think more highly of him.

I've got Canelo by decision, might be close something like 7 rounds to 5. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Canelo stopped Angulo, the only way I see Canelo losing is by mid rounds he starts having stamina issues and begins to be unable to take Angulo's punches, but he should be able to effectively counter and be fast enough to be able to plant his feet and counter and move.

This fight will be a good one to watch,i remember CINTRON outboxe him and i believe CANELO will do the same. Anyway the factor that will count is how much PERRO recuperated his eye from the injury!!! PERRO is that kind of mexican brawler that is dangerous for every fighte and i like to watch,chin-stamina-heart,can take a punch and can punch;he is not fast and very skilled to the other part!

Did he just say the Floyd fight was not a loss? He needs a better team, Angulo is going to be a very difficult fight for him, I think the Lara fight really prepared Angulo for this fight, and with Canelo not really fighting a legit 154 pounder that can take and give, Angulo comes in very good shape, and we know how Canelo tires mid to late in fights - very interesting fight !

angulo's unrelenting style poses a huge KO threat late when canelo starts to gas out. he better target that eye because he is going to be in a real fight this time around. no more soft touches for the ginger boy
