I don't know why Maidana should be under pressure to rematch Broner

Maidana should look for other fights. Keep Broner on the agenda, but now he can take other fights as well.
Broner was the belt holder and had a rematch clause in the contract they both signed, so what Maidana would want matters very little.

Nah even to get schooled he still would have gotten more money for a Mayweather fight we both know that this effectively takes him out of the race for that which kind of sucks for him and not too smart of a move by Broner.

Mayweather can still tab him, or they can pick another fight if they think it's just as lucrative or advances Chinos career better.
I didn't know that. I thought it was an immediate rematch. Good info.

I say no rematch. Chino should keep it moving and don't look back.

Even after losing a wide decision and getting dropped twice?

Maidana should only take the rematch if he receives the lion's share of the purse ie. majority earner.

I saw it in another Maidana thread.. A boxing journalist twitter was quoted saying sources close to Maidana's camp said it wasn't mandatorily immediate. He can sneak in another fight prior...Which is why Maidana is still weighing his options.

Word... I agree. But he has to eventually rematch the guy. The timing of it is in Chino's court though. A point that has not been stressed by enough people.

He'll probably take the rematch.. Only match more lucrative for El Chino is Maidana khan rematch or Maidana may. Khan ain't fighting Marcos while he looking like a killer, and May has been talking to Broner every day, and I don't think May will snatch Chino away if Broner maintains he wants another shot at him. May will give him a chance to redeem himself... As much as I hate where my logic has taken me.

I'd be looking at a porter fight too were I chino. Less money but the unification win would position chino almost irrevocably to fight Floyd and make the big bucks in september.. (You know if Floyd actually wants Maidana there are ways of making Broner wait even longer).. And by proxy avenge his loss to Devon.

Rematch clause. Contractually obligated to rematch the man lest he faces litigation.

                    True..

But different clauses have different parameters and deadlines. The timing is what I'm dis*****g. The rematch is being shoved down Chino's throat, even though there is wiggle room for when the rematch actually has to occur

I've yet to hear Maidana deny the rematch clause, it was Schaffer that said there was no clause then announces the rematch, so...
