It's not a double standard, broner should get the rematch because he was the champ. The champ should always get a rematch if he loses. On the flip side, Maidana wasnt the champ so if he had lost in similar fashion he shouldn't get a rematch.

Now whether or not broner was legit champ at ww is another argument. But since he was the champ, he should be given a rematch. Much like barker should get a rematch with Sturm if he can actually continue fighting and he lost worst than broner did.

If what you say is the standard, then everytime a title changes hands we should see an immediate rematch. I disagree, I dont want to see broner-demarco II the same way I dont want to see Broner-Maidana II, those fights werent competitive.

I kinda like the fact that Broner wants the immediate rematch....

Not sure what people are talking about... Maidana didnt totally dominate Broner... you got to see the middle rounds of the fight... without the knockdowns and the fight is very very close.... 115-110 is a close fight without the 2 knockdowns... and Maidana was hurt bad after round 11.. in spanish you could hear him and the doctor talking about if he wanted to continue... but all in all... not sure if broner will be him in a rematch though... but its not as far fetched as some are making it seem.. though agreed broner at the moment does not deserve a rematch with Maidana... he should try and get back into the win column.

if it was the other way around no one here would agree that Maidana deserves a rematch. This double standard shows some people believe Broner is more "skilled" and he simply "underestimated" his opponent - instead of accepting the fact that Broner is an inferior who got outclassed.

This right here...Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind watching them fight again, but I don't see why Maidana should agree to rematching someone he has just soundly beaten. Broner should move back down a division, fight and beat a couple more big names (if he can) and then look at Maidana later in the year possibly if Maidana is still a talking point...Both should move on for the near future in my opinion.

Oh and Broner can claim to be "outhustled" all he wants, we all saw him get his ass beat badly, no need to sugar coat it thats all there is to it, he got beat down. Props I guess for calling out someone who just owned him though, we'll see what happens...But I guess this lessens a bit of the talk of a May-Maidana fight though...

Great attitude by Broner, can't believe there is people still hating on the kid. Alright we all had our fun with that meme thread, but now it's time to give him some props for showing heart and wanting to get back in there with Maidana.

If he can change his attitude for the better, people will change. If he remains the same, they will hate him no matter what he does in the ring.

Can't critise him for wanting a rematch or his determination to fight Maidana straight away, glad he isn't making any excuses "doe"... And I haven't seen too many excuses made for him, unlike the "If his eye didn't close" crap I see with Matthyse.
