If boxers didnt make any money, would you still watch?

If ppv numbers weren't disclosed, would you still watch?

If you look back in time, fighter salaries and their finances were insignificant to any fan. Somewhere along the line, it somehow became important to know how much they make and what they choose to do with their earnings. Seems weird, but perhaps boxing isn't mainstream anymore because instead of worrying about the in ring action, you're more concerned about the bank accounts.

if fighters didn't make money they wouldn't box. you can die in there.

if you want to understand how boxing works, you have to recognize that it is financially motivated.

sticking your head in the sand and complaining on bscene has no value.

Thats a function of the internet. More information is available to discuss. Its the same with pro wrestling.

Also, discussion of finances is important on NSB because finances drive fights being made, as they always have.

The problem is a lot of posters are very nieve about why fights were made in the past. They are under some delusion that fights were mae for challenge or prestige or legacy or whatever other nostalgic terms we can list.

Boxing isn't mainstream because Doo Ko Kim got killed by Ray Mancini on a sat/sun afternoon. At that point mainstream networks put boxing on less and less. It had nothing to do with finances.

I don't gives a damm how much a fighter makes, I'm not gonna see anyone of it so why worry about it. I buy and watch fights because I want too not because I wanna support this guy or that guy.

Remember how much money Ali made? Exactly

Money is a main ingredient, but not the only one.

Why were we able to see trilogies such as Morales Barrera, Vazquez Marquez, etc?

I became a fan as a kid not giving a damn about a fighter's purse. Or any other athletes contract for that matter. I still don't give a damn what NBA player gets a max deal or what boxer has a career high payday on the horizon, but I'm glad to know that a boxer is earning as much as he can. Good for them

                    my degrees?

virtually all of the top amateurs are paid through sponsorships, grants, etc. their travel, training expenses, housing are often paid for.

how else would a 25 year old remain an amateur for so long?

is that what you were talking about? amateur boxing? or is it just some petty distraction from any meaningful discussion that i was going to elicit?
