Comments Thread For: Guerrero's Lawyer: Golden Boy Violated The Ali Act

Attorney Bruce Zabarauskas of California-based firm Thompson & Knight LLP, reached out to BoxingScene.com to explain the reasoning behind Robert Guerrero's decision to break his promotional contract with Golden Boy Promotions.

Guerrero's lawyer has started the process to break the contract through an arbitration with the California State Athletic Commission.

The former champion has been inactive since the May 2013 twelve round decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. - where Guerrero received a career high $3 million dollar payday. Prior to that, Guerrero headlined televised events against Andre Berto and Seluck Aydin.

Pacquiao Fans criticized Mayweather for fighting Guerrero, saying hes not a worthy opponent. Now they are changing their tune because Manny could fight him lol. Bet he wont do 1m PPVs though like Floyd.

Arum probably told him he could get Pacquiao. I guarantee Arum is the one behind Ward's promotional dispute as well.

Isn't it obvious? Roach makes those statements about possibly fighting a GB fighter and now all of a sudden Robert Guerrero who fights at 147 is trying to get out of his contract with GB... Like really? Its obvious if he is to continue fighting he is going to TR just to fight Manny. This dude is such a damn liar. He lied when he said he didn't skip 140 pounds just to get a money fight with Floyd. Ever since he moved to 147 he was demanding a fight from Mayweather but it was "never about the money". GB has the best opponents at 147 when you look at the stable there and now your trying to tell me you want out? All this dude is looking for is more money. He is really reminding me of Shane Mosley right about now. All this lying and bsing just for money.

No doubt... but with bradley and Ward, he publicly dangled something in their face.
I don't think I've ever heard Bob mention Robert.

If what is written is true than i got to side with Gurerro. They only offered him Thurman and no one else available when they wanted to see their other options. I know thats the Delahoya way for most they top fighters they take on best fighter after best fighter.

GBP got screwed when they thought they were doing the screwing.

I knew something was fishy. Richard Schaefer tries to make anyone who doesn't go along with his game-plan look bad. There is always two sides to the story and now we see that GBP was trying to hold Guerrero hostage by making him sign that illegal extension. I hope Guerrero moves on and gets a big fight with Pacman. That fight will be way more exciting than any fight Floyd will be in, that's a fact!!!

that happened within hours of Roach saying that didn't it? Very surprised if Roach saying that triggered Guerrero leaving. Most likely it was Guerrero leaving and Roach getting a hold of that
