This is how May 3rd SHOULD play out

Listening to Floyd talk it seems like he favors fighting Maidana(who I want him to fight) if Floyd fights Khan I can see Maidana vs Thurman & Mares vs Gonzalez 2 on the undercard. If he fight Maidana I see still Mares vs Gonzalez 2 & Thurman vs Porter on the undercard Khan would cry if he doesn't get the fight.

I'll watch either fight no doubt, but this is past ridiculous. Bradley and Pacquiao are the only names we should be talking about.

The problem is that khan is vulnerable in any fight he takes. Right now he is the biggest draw of anyone available and he can't fight in September due to his fasting so if its not May its another year. Just by staying busy Khan could take another loss and kill the possibility of a Floyd fight, which is Golden Boy has been hyping this guy up for years to get done.

Khan should never have ducked out of the Alexander fight.He probably would have won handily, picked up a strap and been fresh in people's mind with a decent win. Now all we see is his struggle with a faded Diaz and the KO loss to Garcia. He's got no right to get the fight, especially when Floyd talks all the non sense about Manny being 1-2 IN his last 3 when in reality he beat Bradley.
They will load the undercard with exciting welterweight match ups and do good numbers and Floyd will claim it's because he's the greatest LOL...

Maidana deserves the fight but no one outside of hardcore boxing fans know who he is. He is coming off being the B side in a Showtime fight despite the fight being in San Antonio. Mexican fans don't really know him and casual fans have no idea about this guy. The fight would flop just like the Guerrero fight did last May and Showtime is guaranteeing Floyd another $32 million for those kind of numbers again. Khan is a guy they can hype up, Maidana is a harder sell. Casuals that buy PPV's could care less about who holds the titles.

How can they hype Khan up? More people will believe Maidana beating Floyd from what he did to Broner than anything Khan done in the past 3 years. The Guerrero fight did better than rest of the PPV's combines so I would stop calling it a flop it was barely promoted whoever Floyd fight I doubt that happens again.

Khans stock isnt as high as it used to be and maidana's is high as when he upset Ortiz, if not higher.

People that think they know styles might prefer khan, but they don't attach enough importance to intangibles, imo. Too clinical in their analysis.

Maidana is coming off of a career defining win and khan off of a ko and then a struggle match. They can market the maidana fight much easier due to the story and them being able to sell Maidana as a credible and dangerous opponent.

Only way May Khan does good numbers is if its held in Wembley or something. And May, for all his talk, is gonna stay right in Vegas. If Im on team May, which I'm not, the only reason Khan is being picked is because its the safer pick. Maidana's intangibles are off the charts, they HAVE to know that.

None of that really matters. The UK PPV market alone puts Khan above Maidana in terms of appeal.
