Comments Thread For: Adonis Stevenson Not Worried About Kovalev's Danger

WBC and RING Magazine light heavyweight champion Adonis "Superman" Stevenson said that he understands why undefeated WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev is pushing so hard for a unification fight. He said that it comes down to simple economics. Stevenson said that Kovalev knows that the only way for him to get a big payday is by facing the number one fighter in the division. Haha I'm with you! For Adonis, Kovalev is the one who is knocking.

Remember Stevenson's last post fight interview? I'm pretty sure he is a little worried

Adonis will be worried the day that he's standing across the ring from Sergey.

Stevenson has not fought a puncher like Kovalev but nor vice versa. So its as 50-50 as it can get if anything Stevenson has beaten Dawson and Cloud while Kovalev's best win is shot Campillio, but id still call a 50 50 fight. Stevenson between 6-10. "Koedvalev"

Stevenson by KO. He'll stop the boogeyman.

I understand Campillo had had problems in camp and arrived in the US a coupla days before the fight, but I'm not sure he was 'shot' - just not at his best, since he had, of course, boxed crap outta Cloud in his last outing.

Cloud, hmm...I guess he just wasn't a very good boxer...and was of course coming off the Hopkins loss. Time will tell whether Dawson was shot of course, but it was certainly being discussed even before the Stevenson fight (though of course no one expected what actually happened). Ward is not really a stoppage winner, but had comprehensively outboxed and beaten up Dawson.

That said, whilst I believe Kovalev would probably win, I agree that it's absolutely a fight that could go either way, a single mistake or lapse in concentration could decide the fight one way or the other.

Adonis retains his belt, and takes Sergey's.
