Comments Thread For: R. Mayweather: Khan is a Bigger Fight Than Maidana

Roger Mayweather, uncle and trainer of WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26KOs), says British star Amir Khan is a bigger fight than Marcos Maidana, the WBA's welterweight champion.

Khan and Maidana are the two frontrunners to face Mayweather on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. All of the signs are pointing to a deal with Khan. Maidana's camp recently stated that nobody had approached them with an offer to face Mayweather in May.

lol these mayweather people always trying to b.s. The people... Really?? Khan is bigger fight??? Even though he's 2-2 in his last fights? And he's been out of the ring for 11 months?? Wasn't that an excuse about pacquiao.. That he's 1-2 in his last fights? At least maidana comes to fight.. Has never been ktfo.. He's 4-0 in his last couple of fights with 3 k.o.'s and has the wba belt he took from broner.. What does khan have?? A win against molina and diaz?? C level fighters like himself.. **** even with pacquiao's 2 so called losses he's a better opponent than khan and maidana put together.. Amirite

Khan may be the bigger event but IMO it isn't the better fight. Yes, Khan beat Maidana but that doesn't mean he'd do better against floyd.

I will continue to hope the Khan fight doesn't get made.

        It's hardly a bigger event.

Why is it a bigger event? I don't understand?

Mayweather-Pacquiao will NEVER happen while Manny is under Arum. Pay attention.

          Roger keeps it real.

Pacquiao is a bigger fight than both.

Not to mention higher ranked, and more deserving. Yet he has several more hoops to jump through?

the freddie roach trainer khan would've actually had a shot at troubling mayweather. Under hunter, with his decreased punch output and awkward attempts at a safety first style he's got almost no chance.
