Floyd likes to call himself a business man and the greatest boxer ever, but he will never be able to be considered great at either unless he makes this fight.

What kind of business man doesn't make the biggest deal ever because a former employer hurt his feelings?

What kind of boxer doesn't look to fight the best out there?

Manny said his kids asked him to do one thing before he retires "beat up Mayweather." Floyd is saying he won't fight someone because somebody called him a coward. Who doesn't want the fight?
How is supposed to make a fight when the other side isn't willing to make the fight either? Both teams keep coming up with lame ass excuses but then don't hesitate to talk about each other anyways.

That is documented because part of what started so much of Floyd's hate for Oscar is he felt Oscar wasn't paying up all of Floyd's guaranteed PPV % and the same came up after Mosley. Now it is true that Floyd got the MUCH bigger cut in the JMM and Mosley fights.

And that Haymon and Ellerby handle the business side of it is exactly what I meant. Obviously they aren't sparring for Floyd or fighting for him. But his fighting isn't what gets him paid. It's the contracts and the smooth talking lawyers that get him paid. There are a HELL of a lot of really talented fighters out there that can't pay their own mortgages because they don't have solid people taking care of the business side of things. In fact, Pacquiao might be the perfect example. Someone who is a small step below Floyd (who at his prime would probably have beaten Floyd) but can't manage his personal/professional life enough to stay in the black.

I'm TOTALLY on board with the belief that Pacquiao leaving Arum and signing with Haymon would be the best thing for him. But the WHOLE point of this thread and my posts is this... it wouldn't make a damn bit of difference! Floyd is not fighting Pacquiao because he is an Arum fighter.... Floyd is not fighting Pacquiao because Pacquiao is PACQUIAO!

He should still sign with Haymon and retire even wealthier than he is, but he will never step foot in the ring with Floyd. If he signed with Haymon, Floyd would just say "he doesn't belong in the ring with me" or "he's not on my level" and he'd say it... and say it... and say it... until the years and fights passed by... Pacquiao is spent.... and he's finally proved himself right.
It would make a huge difference in terms of negotiations if they both shared Haymon as their manager. It ensures a much smoother negotiation process. You easily forget that a Pacquaio vs. Mayweather fight was officially negotiated at least one time. It was a huge deal. So obviously, once upon a time, Floyd wanted to fight Pacquaio. But today -- he has no interest or very little.

As far as the money goes -- Floyd Mayweather had to pay the purse for Mosley too. After Floyd left Top Rank, that's when Haymon and Ellerbe decided the next business move -- to control everything surrounding his fights including the promotion. So unless it's against a guy like Oscar and/or Pacquaio who have A LOT of leverage, Floyd is controlling everything basically. When Floyd wanted Pacquaio to just take $40 million, and he'd wire half of it upfront -- that is exactly what he does regularly with his opponents. But that just won't work with guys who have a lot of leverage like Pacquaio.

Floyd always has Manny's name in his mouth. Stop it with the FM-MP talk. **** is old and I'm disgusted with it.

as boxing fans who gives a f*** about who's managing who or how much money so and so is getting. We're not getting any of it. We should all just ask floyd to fight already. Stop with these excuses and fight already. I think he might just pull a sugar ray leonard and keep denying hagler till he sees aging and diminished talent then challenge him. For the sake of boxing history. Floyd is favored to win, pac has given in to his demands, plus floyd calls the the shots. Everything boxing fan should demand this fight. Floyd fans act like they gonna get payed less if arum is in the picture. No we all pay. Its called ppv.

                  Between the lines

So between the lines hes saying

"if i had listened Bob and fought Margarito, i would have lost, i send Bob to hell and from then on, i have taken only calculated risks, and this is the formula to be the PPV king, all other fighters are fools"

Well, all the time we hear the story of the promoter ruining the boxer, i guess im a mayweather fan for standing up to the system and creating his own world, in that aspect hes the GOAT, but ... hes a coward for ducking PACMAN:bukkake:

LOL sad everyone agrees with mayweather being a coward, just the rationing on why he a coward is the only thing people disagree on lol.

For Floyd this is a double-edged sword, he doesn't fight Manny and he will not have to deal with Arum, but he tarnishes his legend/reputation when he is discussed where he belongs among the greats because he did not fight Manny the other great fighter of this era.
