Keep trying to convince yourself people
If I throw two punches at you during a fight and one lands, is that impressive? Is your defense ****? Rios didn't throw. It's easier to land at a high percentage when you're only throwing when you're convinced you'll land.

Manny may be wiser, but better is debatable, like someone above me said. He has shown boxing skill in the past against bigger dudes. He's not always a Tasmanian devil.

i'm a pac fan but that is ridiculous. pac is already on the decline for years now ffs.

just because he was less aggresive and used more ring movements doesn't mean he has improved. whatever you saw in the rios fight, he could've easily done that 5 years ago and more if he just have the same mindset and fight plan. you could say he got wiser but improved his game? not really.

Not only that he fought Brandon Rios...a guy that would make Margarito look like a virtuoso...Manny isn't dead but the Rios fight proved nothing other than he can beat a bottom of his weight class guy who's moving up a weight for his first fight....big deal.

that's just not how boxing works, dog.

"improvements" take time, and come in your youth and prime. pacquiao can make tactical adjustments, but he will not "improve" after a knockout loss at hte end of his career.

look at prime pacquiao against miguel cotto and tell me that old pacquiao against rios looked the same.

manny has been slowing for years now. the first marked decline i saw came in the margarito fight. manny started taking part of the rounds off, and his legs looked to be betraying him a bit in the middle of the fight. we saw him on the ropes, covering up, and taking punches for an answer.

this is really all that you need to understand, TS.

marquez is an all time great and a great counterpuncher. brandon rios is a punching bag. he moves forward and eats punches. when he fires back, it's slow and relatively uneducated.

But in the Rios fight he was more measured, more calculated, and better prepared to finish the fight. He didn't chase the knockout, he just put faith in his boxing. Overall he's shown a lot of improvement.
