I am a kovalev and GGG fan but once they both lose you all will jump ship to the next new boogeyman like the groupies that you are. Superman VS Kovalev is a 50/50 fight and if you think otherwise you may need to get your eyes checked.
Yeah because a guy with 9 posts gets the right to talk about how consistent other posters are...

FWIW tho, it is a fight that could very easily go either way I'm leaning towards Kovalev as the more technically skilled fighter. Though I think Stevensons hook is probably a bigger punch than anything Sergei has, Sergei throws heavy punches consistently and in combination. All it really takes is one mistake from either tho.

The main thing is that the fight gets made - if Stevenson is right about this it has to be one of the most anticipated fights of the year whether it lasts 2 or 12 rounds.

Neither have faced anything much like the other. We've yet to see how versatile Kovalev is for the same reason we've yet to see any vulnerabilities - he puts people away too quickly...

What we do know however that aside from his clear KO power which he seems to be able to deliver from anywhere he was an excellent amateur with over 200 fights. Will Stevenson have the answer? I don't know...is a good counter puncher the guy to beat Kovalev? We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

I'm from the UK, and having seen a lot of Cleverly and Bellew, I really fancied their chances against these two.
But we know what happened there. Kovalev and Stevenson both made a believer out of me, and now I want to see them fight each other.
For me, it's 50/50. When two guys as powerful as this clash, you just never know what will happen. Just that somebody is going to get clobbered, hard.

          Am not sure.

Kovalev is certainly a very tough dude while Stevenson is more skillful decent counter puncher. Plus he's southpaw counter puncher.

          Styles make fights.

I guess it's like 60/40 Kovalev (cuz of his chin... i guess it's being more legit). But i won't be surprised if Stevenson KOs him.

Actually, Stevenson was quoted as saying:
..." Now I am the champ at 175 and I would like to fight Carl Froch and Bernard Hopkins. Kovalev has won a couple fights and now he's a champion. In the three fights (I have) this year I am going to fight Kovalev. I want to let the fans know that the fight will happen. My promoter is working on that with Main Events."

Therefore, if Hopkins can't be made and Froch remains uninterested, Kovalev is probably his biggest money fight, and that could make it the fight to be made rather sooner than later. On another hand Stevenson could have just launched a lure for the other "big guys", in order to make them hurry up and fight him before Kovalev does... (Which is more likely...)

I think you are right MD but I don't see the Hopkins fight happening at all unless Stevenson wants to jump ship to Showtime and Froch won't leave England for Canada to fight. And I don't think Stevenson would go to England either. So his only big fight would be Kovalev or Ward (which he hasn't mentioned). Otherwise whoever he picks or Kovalev picks will be B/C level opposition which is unfair to us fans. HBO needs to force these fights. If Kov/Stevenson want to fight B/C level opposition, no problem but HBO shouldn't buy it then.

Huge question about Kovalev's ability when the 4th, 5th, 6th round roll around and his opponent is still there. Early KOs are great, but they don't answer the question of what happens when the early KO doesn't come.

Please review the Simakov fight -- Kovalev really took his time in that one... And poor Simakov just collapsed in the 7th and died two days after...

What if they made Ward-GGG and Kovalev-Adonis wouldn't that be a great PPV? or no
