If Mendez had put his hands down at the sound if the bell then I would say that sucks but Mendez was defending himself which is part of the game...defend yourself at all times!! It just so happens he was all ready knocked down and on wobbly legs!! What Mendez should do his quit his crying bc it looks bad take the beat down like a man and rematch Barthelemy!! Regardless Rances beats Mendez down again in the rematch

Yes thats my opinion. The rules do not say he MUST do those things, they simply advice the refs to do it. There is no actual rule for the refs to do that, it is simply considered good practice

How are people in favor of refs getting physically involved in fights, they should step back and allow the fighters to fight. If they are dirty they are to be warned, and a continuation will cause in penalization or DQ. A good ref controls a fights without jumping in every moment, otherwise you have Joe Cortez.

Anyway you cannot punch after the bell, this lies on the fighters not to break those rules. Just like its up to the fighters not to rabbit punch or low blow

You cannot punch after the bell, you cant make something more cut and dry. Its sooooo simple, yet you guys are bending the rules and making exceptions for when its ok to break these rules, its amazing

You didn't know the rule the other night and u said they should stand back,acting like that was the rule ..Now we know what they instruct.
