Every time someone mentions Klitschko and Lewis in the sentence our Princess Leia is there to defend her hero.

It's ok the greats always get some criticism, in time even some of them will learn to accept it.

I'm interested in hearing why you think Wlad is by far the better boxer? IMO, they are both black belts.

Great footwork, much better speed, one of the best (if not the best) jab in the history of boxing, superior power, better distance control.

Wladimir is indeed the better boxer of the two and he's certainly more talented than big Vit. But he's not a born fighter like his big brother.

I agree that Wlad has mastered his style and craft to perfection (courtesy of Steward), and that he technically bests Vitali in some aspects with crisper punches, speed, etc. But if you study Vitali closely, he's actually a highly gifted technical fighter too; mostly, we don't even notice this during ring action, due to Vitali's awkward, unorthodox style, and the fine subtleties of his ring work.

Don't get me wrong, I think that H2H Vitali would beat his brother due to his, as you said, unorthodox style but if we're talking about who's more skilled it's definitaly Wlad, he was/is very talented.

It's because you've mentioned Lewis. Nobody speaks bad or even normal about his Lennox.

You can only speak about him with song on your lips and love in your heart.

Why do you think that? If you were talking about Ali ok, but I don't see why Wladimir can't be ahead of Lewis especially if he keeps winning.

Why I think that? Because 1) Lewis was better.

That's the first thing. When Lewis had a poor defense, he beat the lineal champion of the world. When Wlad has a poor defense, he beats someone who's not even ranked in the top 25.

The tomato cans Wlad has been fighting - and they are tomato cans mostly - would not even be known in the 90s. The Pianetas, Wach's, Mormeck's, Thompson's, Sanders, Ibragimov, McCline, Barrett, Peter - hell even Povetkin - some of them weren't even the best of a bad bunch. No head movement, no ferocity, no excitement or style, no footwork, they are out of shape and overweight, don't fight each other... The list goes on and on. This era is starting to turn with some decent fighters coming up - but it truly has been a sad state of affairs since Lewis retired with belts changing hands every other week from guys who would be journeymen in the previous era.

Wlad would be a force in any era, i'm not dis*****g that. But he's missing the guys that could elevate his status. He has beaten a few good fighters like Byrd, Haye and Chagaev. But imagine what people would think of those defenses should Lewis had fought them in his prime? Jesus.

Lewis > Wlad - and Wlad can keep winning.
