Kind of odd but if misery loves company, they both were miserable by Tapia's loss and found some things to cling to.

Actually, he's sort of correct. Deuteronomy 25:5 says the following:

5"When brothers live together and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the deceased shall not be married outside the family to a strange man. Her husband's brother shall go in to her and take her to himself as wife and perform the duty of a husband's brother to her. 6"It shall be that the firstborn whom she bears shall assume the name of his dead brother, so that his name will not be blotted out from Israel.

There is the technicality that Johnny did already have kids with her and there already is a junior, so they might be pulling a fast one here. Truth is though that this is pretty standard fare for ****** New Mexicans. Those horny bastards are always coveting their brothers' wives, so they'll jump at any chance to hit it. Sad but true.

She wasn't the star, so what's the big deal. I wish her the best, her loss was huge!

Before the age of the car, working women, and the welfare state it was really common for practical reasons. (Which likely informed the religious reasons.) A little squicky to contemporary sensibilities, but it makes sense from a shared traumatic event POV.

Boxing fans are funny. Make a black joke and everyone laughs. Reference the bible and everyone starts quoting scripture. I'm guessing this is not a ******* fan base.

A black joke as in a racial joke, or dark humour?

It's not difficult to understand how the two ended up together; however I wouldn't expect the people on this site to understand. When a husband passes away it is not unnatural for his brother to step in and support his widowed wife and children; the support would be emotional as well as physical; however when you're dealing with men and women those factors create confusion that will often result in a relationship.
