My best friend HERMANN NGOUDJO ( fought castillo/paulie/randall bailey, augustus in the mid 2000s ) got his jaw broken in a championship fight against Juan Urango at bell center in montreal 6 7 years ago and had to stop boxing ! today all the people who used to call him champ ask for his autographs and crack jokes with him dont even say hi to him and dont care if his 2 daughters eat or no so i know what im talking about ! i love boxing and i think its a great sport but some fans dont know boxing at all and just want to see people fight and blood pouring. This people have to live their lifes after and im glad some boxers like Floyd bernard rigo are leading the way and showing other boxers that you can be a boxer and be smart and think about your life and family first
            Well said.

I don't blame the guys with the defense first style. If I had the talent, I'd be avoiding unnecessary damage, too. Any smart person would.

That's why I respect the technical aspect of the sport

Had a sick feeling in my stomach reading this headline...

                Condolences .

Isn't that a unusually high number of boxing deaths in Asia? Is it because the bouts are too uneven?

Terrible news my heart goes out to his loved ones. Very sad... I was surprised to see the number of boxing deaths in japan since 1952 is 38 , it seems like a lot to me...

I disagree with this. They put their lives on the line to make a living off this sport... for themselves and for those they need to support. I would say that only a few truly do care about entertaining fans and go out of their way to do so.

Anyhow, RIP. This is just one of the harsh realities of combat sports.

Man please cut the shhh ..this is a mans sport..these guys gets paid and know what they risk when they get in the ring. Considering the numbers of boxers who've taken part in the sport vs the number of boxers who've died due to the sport is less than .005%. You have a better chance of dying falling down a flight of steps..or from choking on your own spit. Just like football players..you know what you signed up for. It does suck when it happens but let's not act like they didn't volunteer to step into the ring.
