Negro is just a word from a bygone age in America, it is not a bad word but you will get looked at funny using it because it almost never gets used by anyone under the age of 60.


Call a woman a dame in the US and see what they say, that certainly isn't an offensive word if you look at what it is supposed to mean either. You will still get funny ass looks, because it is not a common use word.
