Actually, in Canada prostitution isn't illegal. REPEAT, in Canada prostitution isn't illegal. This is something many Canadians don't know because of American TV.

You could call, email, or text an escort to your home or hotel and be 100% fine as long as she is of age and nothing else shady is going on.

What is illegal in Canada is a bunch of stuff around prostitution. Solicitation on the street is illegal. Living of the avails is illegal. Keeping a bawdy house is illegal. Being in a bawdy house is illegal. Things involving trafficking, abuses, and children are illegal.

Even with the things that are illegal a bunch of those laws were just thrown out as being too broad. Living off the avails was designed to stop pimping, but could include accountants and drivers. Being found in a bawdy house could be a strip club where you were just having some beers. The police here never tried to press charges in these cases, because the laws were too broad, but they were on the books. Right around Christmas our Supreme Court just threw a bunch of these laws out, and gave the government a year to change the laws.

So long story short, escorts are 100% legal in Canada as long as you don't pick them up on the street and you take them to a hotel or your place, and they are of age and not trafficked.
