Kovalev's manager: "Sergey is not a racist."

There are some good translation here by people who speak english better than me. Sergey's trainer is black, and he said that he has very good relationship with him, his favorite boxer - Floyd Mayweather and there are a lot pics of him with Roy Jones, Mike Tyson etc... Racism is hate, how can Kovalev be racist if his favorite fighter is black? Sergey is not very politically correct, which i like and he also said about some negative experiences in USA with mostly black people, but true racist would hate everybody with black skin... simply said - Kovalev aint racist.
Paula Deen had extremely close ties to the Black community and yet she apparently was using the term "******" whenever she deemed it appropriate.
What about all the closeted gay politicians and their extreme, far right anti-gay policies??
Whether or not Kovalev is a racist or not we're getting some pretty lame arguments.Comment

You don't think he's racist based on what? A hunch? The racist comments kinda undermine your argument.Comment

This is just my opinion though, and I could be wrong.Comment

Fair enough...didn't think it was that big of a deal myself. I was more trying to explain than excuse tho, and yeah, I suspect Kovalev doesn't give much of a s#it.Comment

I highly doubt he is a racist, otherwise he wouldn't work with a black trainer. The simplest manner of sorting this out is by;
A. Speaking to Kovalev and reiterating to him although in Russia it may be the norm, it isn't in America
B. It should be one rule for everyone and not for others, blacks shouldn't be allowed to refer to each other as "n!ggers" because if this term is indeed racist and offensive stop using it completely, don't play the race card when it suits you.
C. Anyone who behaves in any racist manner in the future should be apprehended and dealt with in the most severe manner. Floyds remarks about feeding asians rice should equally have been penalised as Mundines comments about ****sexuals.Comment
