Gabriel Campillo? You know, the same guy who clowned Cloud and beat his ass? The same guy Kovalev slaughtered? And Cleverly beat Bellew.

I'm sorry, but this is absolutely ridiculous. Stevenson was absolutely not the fighter of the year. Floyd had a better year, Bradley had a better year, Rigondeaux had a better year, hell Kovalev arguably had a better year. Are we really going to pretend that Chad Dawson was still Chad Dawson and give Stevenson this much credit for that win? Even if we completely ignore that Chad Dawson was coming off being weight drained and beaten in a way that likely ruined him, he was still not that good a fighter nor had he been on any kind of real run before losing to Ward.

Again, I find this push behind Stevenson to be FOTY ridiculous.

Stevenson and Kovalev level of opposition is basically identical, so I judge them on who is the greater fighter

Stevenson is flatfooted and load up on power shots. He doesn't have very good head movement or footwork.

Kovalev fights with a bounce in his steps and has power with both hands and throws better combinations.

Kovalev is a better offensive and defensive fighter and Stevenson knows it, which is why hes ducking

Solid choice boxingscene, personally I thought he was the best pick although there were a few good contenders.

Adonis deserves it. No one gave it to him. He worked for it. He is an inspiration to many who can have hope that they too can turn their lives around and not be a burden to society. You go SUPERMAN, the world is watching.

                  Him... Fighter of the year?
You've got to be kidding me!
Beating a washed up Chad Dawson... Tarvoris Cloud who got clowned by Bernard Hopkins then Tony Bellew whom everyone gave Bellew zero chance at all but NOPE apparently that's enough to get you fighter of the year.

Keith Thurman was more worthy of being mentioned for it than him!
Soto Karass and Chaves those two guys are really tough AND they weren't shot they were in excellent form.

It was between he and Adonis for me. Rigo had the best single win of the whole year. Adonis changed the landscape of a weight class, generated fan excitement, and put butts in seats. People walking out on Rigo's second appearance was the difference for me. Winning isn't the only thing when choosing between a bunch of guys with big wins.
