Comments Thread For: Argenis Mendez' Team To Appeal Barthelemy KO Outcome

Mike Tyson has quickly endured a few rough patches while still in his 1st year as a boxing promoter.

The former heavyweight king joined forces with Acquinity Sports last summer to form Iron Mike Productions, which made its official debut last August in an event that served as the 2013 season finale of ESPN2 Friday Night Fights. In the main event, 130 lb. titlist Argenis Mendez was forced to settle for a 12-round draw versus Arash Usmanee, in a bout many felt should’ve gone to the champ.

It looked to me like Barthelemy possibly landed a low blow as well during the first knock down.

No surprise. After the fight, Tyson said they would appeal. But I would be willing to bet the KO will stand, although the IBF might order a rematch (which Barthelemy will probably win anyway).

Just do a rematch, Barthelemy said he would be willing to give Mendez a rematch so no need to go through this kind of process, take it to the ring.

I wonder if the ref could've given him 5-10 minutes to recover and let Bart finish what he had started.

He hit him after the bell, but the ref never got in between them.

He hit him after the bell, and he couldnt continue because of it. Thats called a DQ.

                  Its a rather simple concept

Mike's just following procedure . I'm sure he'll have a chance at a rematch , Rances already said he give it and I believe him. Question is does Mike and Mendez seek a rematch at this point when they know they'll probably lose ?
