I am certain the win will remain but Podgorski has historically been a slow-reacting ref, & more importantly, has a tag of stopping bouts 2 late, causing potential injury 2 boxers...he's a poor ref, @ best...

Clearly after the bell, & the fight ruled a NC even though dude was losing. But for the biggest hypocrite ever to call a Friday night "Teddy Atlas" to not even mention the fight being a NC was a big disappointment. The guy comes on every fight crying about everything wrong in boxing from the judge's decision to the distance a fighter has ok wall to the ring. For him to be such a freaking crybaby over so many things get to not say the fight should have been declared a NC shows me he's all smoke and mirrors. ......

Brian Campbell, an ESPN boxing journalist, agrees with Teddy's take on the fight.

It's called controversy for a reason. Not everyone is going to agree.

I don't think anybody can argue that Rances hit Mendez after the bell. That being said I think they should have ruled the fight a No Contest. When they have a rematch I really feel Rances will KO Mendez, but this time he'll do it during the round.
The Ref was to blame for the punches after the bell because when the 10 second warning sounded, he was wiping Mendez's gloves off from the 1st knockdown. he should have been closer to the action than he was.

Just saw the fight... only person to blame is the ref. Bart was in finish off mode and the ref let all that go on after the bell. He wasn't aware how close the round was to ending and should have been close to the fighters to stop action as soon as the bell rang

I was never that impressed with Barthelemy but he looked great tonight. I hope the "controversy" doesn't overshadow how dominant he was in this fight.

Most likely there will be a rematch ordered but I think the result will be the same. Mendez is a good fighter but Rances has his number.

I can't wait to see how Barthelemy will fair with the other elite JLWs. This has been a pretty quiet division for a while.
